The 2016 Ring of Lights was a success! This was the 19th year the Bellefontaine Parks & Recreation Department held the event, and it was easily one of the biggest crowds we've seen. Several hundred kids lined up early, waiting for their chance to walk the track and pick up treats from various community organizations and businesses stationed along the way. The weather was mild- just a little bit chilly- but overall a perfect night for trick or treating.
We were at the beginning of the walk, handing out FREE reflective trick or treat bags, with a bonus coloring book and crayons inside. Big thanks to the volunteers from our office Carrie Reynolds (dressed as The Insurance Goddess) and Jana Harrigan. Carrie's daughter Annika also handed out bags- dressed as a crayon. Carrie's son Ethan got to participate in the walk, and he couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had.
Our favorite part of the event is seeing the kids in their costumes, but recently the adults have started getting in on the action. We even saw a Tyrannosaurus Rex (props to that costume) and a family of Star Wars Storm Troopers.
Thank you to Parks & Rec. for hosting this event that provides a safe environment for children to trick or treat and allowing us to participate once again. We always enjoy being out in the community, and it's simply a fun evening.
We'll definitely be back for next year's Ring of Lights. Enjoy our pictures from the evening!
