Note: Alan Galvez Insurance recently participated in the United Way of Logan County's "Stuff the Bus" program where we collected school supplies to be given away at local schools. This is a note from the director of the United Way about the project. We are deeply committed to our community and grateful to be able to participate in projects like this.
School is back in session for many area students. And thanks to your generosity and all of the anonymous donors who gave to United Way’s Stuff the Bus project at your collection site over the last three weeks, no Logan County student should be without the tools they need to complete their assignments. Thousands of school supplies were delivered to the Board office of all Logan County school districts on Monday for use in classrooms as teachers see fit.
"The generosity was breathtaking," said Brad Hall, Superintendent of Bellefontaine City Schools. "I returned to the office to see all of the supplies in the hall and was completely stopped in my tracks. I cannot say thank you enough. The supplies will be put to great use!"
You joined more than 30 area businesses and churches that served as collection sites for three weeks leading up to the start of the school year. A dozen volunteers assisted by staffing on-site at area retail stores this past Saturday. Bellefontaine City Schools supplied an actual bus for us to use as a prop and to move supplies. More volunteers counted and sorted the items Monday at Our Daily Bread and helped to deliver the supplies to the districts later that day. Parents whose children need school supplies should contact their school office to access the donated supplies.
Our thanks to YOU for helping to make our drive so successful! Thank you for choosing to LIVE UNITED!
