Let's talk about choosing a detailing company to make your vehicle look new again. One question I get a lot is, "Why is there such a wide range of price differences between detailing companies?" If you're like me, you're always looking for the best deal. Who doesn't want to get more for their money? However, when choosing a service like auto detailing, there are some things you should realize as a consumer.
The first thing you have to realize is, like many services, auto detailers range from full time professionals, to part time amateurs looking for some extra cash. The difference in costs of doing business between the two is enormous. The list could go on and on when talking about requirements to run a legitimate business including licenses, permits, insurance, training, and numerous other expenses to conduct day to day business. All of these things are expenses that play a factor in the cost of running a business. Most of these expenses are nonexistent in discount and amateur detailing services which means their cost of doing business is much lower. As a result, so are their prices.
Another thing that is important to know is, is what is included in the service. The term “full detail” is a term that has long been used in my industry to describe a complete interior and exterior detail. But what is included in a full detail? Not every vehicle is the same. Some are dirtier than others on the interior. Some require a polishing step on the exterior to bring out the shine. So you can see that a “full detail” is not a one size fits all service.
We offer a variety of packages to suit the particular vehicles needs. We examine the vehicle and discuss with the client what is needed to bring out the full potential of their vehicle. The price is based on what is needed and what is requested from the customer. We may spend two hours on a vehicle, or me might spend all day on a vehicle and we price accordingly.
Our vehicles are typically the second biggest investment we make as individuals. We not only want them to last a long time, but we also want them clean and looking good. It is a good idea to have your vehicle regularly detailed to keep the paint finish clean and protected in addition to the interior cleaned and protected as well. My advice to people looking for a detailing service is to do your research. Make sure the company you choose is reputable, has good reviews, and is licensed and insured. If you choose a detailer solely based on their low price, I can promise you that the repair costs will be much greater then the money you saved.
