This is a guest article from Brenda Moots and Brian Holder, of Indian Lake Outfitters, LLC (ILO). ILO has both a physical store and online storefront that specializes in hunting, fishing, camping, archery, firearms and ammunition equipment.
Being involved with so many different outdoor activities, we get lots of questions from both customers and visitors. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions.
How long have you been here?/Where are you located?
Although we did recently relocate from Russells Point to Downtown Lakeview, Indian Lake Outfitters has always been a locally owned and operated outdoor retail store. We are celebrating our 5th year as a brick and mortar store in March and seven years as a .com business. Our physical address is 145 E. Lake St., Lakeview OH 43331.
What are your hours?
Indian Lake Outfitters is on the web at www.indianlakeoutfitters.com 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We’re extremely accessible both personally and professionally via social media- Facebook, Instagram (iloutfitters2008) #TeamILO, Twitter (ilo2008), or you can come see us in person anytime between 10am-5pm, Tuesday thru Saturday.
What’s the fishing report?
Our reply will vary depending on the season, temperature and weather conditions, but we’ll always offer you a great honey hole and recommend good live bait. Shameless plug here … we sell LIVE BAIT, including bass & crappie minnows, red worms, wax worms and night crawlers!
Do you have any .22lr ammo?
NO, and neither does your big box store (insert Wal-Mart, Dunham’s, Cabela’s, Bass Pro) here. Unfortunately, it’ll be couple more years before we see normal levels of stocked ammunition simply because of supply and demand. However, because we’re locally owned and operated and strive for that next level of customer service, we do offer to add you to our waiting list and call you as soon as it becomes available.
Do you take trades?
You betcha! We buy, sell, trade and take consignment, just bring the item into the shop for us to look over and evaluate. We keep things simple, yet secure, to create a win-win for all of us.
How much is a hunting/fishing license?
The ODNR offers hunting and fishing license for the 2015-2016 season for just $19 a year. Anyone over the age of 16 MUST have one if they’re going to participate in the sport. At the young age of 66, you’re fortunate to earn a $9 discount.
Do you repair bows?
Oh, yes! We have a full-time bow technician on hand to press and adjust your new or used bow back into tip-top shape. We also cut and fletch arrows, offer instruction and have a rental equipment program.
And our #1 question is- don't laugh- Where’s a good place to eat?
You'll have to visit us to get our answer on this one- it all depends on what you like to eat. But Logan County has some excellent restaurants for sure!
Shopping local is more than just a transaction – it’s getting to know your community and building relationships. Stronger relationships create a stronger community. Communities we’re proud to live in work in and raise our family in. Thank you for supporting us at Indian Lake Outfitters and the many other great locally owned and operated businesses within Logan County.
