We were so pleased to be a sponsor for the very first "Not So Bad Art by Good People" fundraising event for the Logan County Art League. The event featured non-artist "celebrities" competing to create a work of art and campaigning for the public's vote for their artwork. The artwork was on display at the Gallery at the Holland and the public was invited to vote for their favorite at $1 per vote.
There were 15 artists that participated and many can agree- the amount of talent displayed in the various paintings was astounding. Everyone that participated stepped way outside of their comfort zone and really stepped up to create beautiful pieces of art.
The event concluded with a dinner, an auction of the art and a trophy presentation to the winner of the popular vote. The winner was Rick Hatcher, President of Citizens Federal Savings & Loan. Here's a picture of the winner. The event raised over $2,200 for the Art League.
All proceeds benefit the Logan County Art League, who's mission is the following: "....to enrich our community through the appreciation, advancement and celebration of the visual arts as well as to nurture developing and experienced artists through art education, exhibitions and support."
